Winning bridge designs

From City Scene, published on 7 October, 2007

Judges have chosen four winners from more than 150 imaginative designs entered in Auckland City Council's Te Wero bridge concept design competition. The winners - Takeshi Hashimoto (from Tokyo), Roy Fleetwood (Wellington) and Richard Naish and Rewi Thompson (both from Auckland) - will each receive $2000 and have been invited to work with technical experts in developing their concepts. Judges also commended three entries from Aucklanders Stephane Gascoin, Michael and Christine Drinnan, and John Haydn, awarding them $500 each. To view the seven designs and find out more about the CBD waterfront, check out the exhibition at the maritime museum until Friday, 12 October.
