Project Greenlane progressFrom City Scene, published on 7 October, 2007 Part of the safety median between Atarangi Road and Adam Street on Great South Road in Greenlane was removed last week to improve access to these side roads. Work on Project Greenlane - Auckland City Council's initiative to improve connections between key parts of the city and enhance safety and public transport - is progressing well. Road widening and work on upgrading footpaths is being completed around Wairakei Street and the southbound side of Great South Road. Work to relocate utility services on the northbound side of the road is also underway. A major road layout change is planned for the Harp of Erin in January 2008. Local businesses are open as normal during the works, so come down and find out what makes this area unique. Visit our website for more information about the project's progress.
