Korean art in New ZealandFrom City Scene, published on 7 October, 2007
A new Artstation Gallery exhibition depicts the development of Korean art and culture in New Zealand. Artist and organiser Jung-Ryu Jun says, "The exhibition encourages cultural interchange, which is important given the increasingly multi-cultural nature of New Zealand. It's a brilliant way to share with New Zealanders the best that Korea has to offer." The exhibition features works by members of the Korean Fine Arts Association such as Hi sung Ko's Family #1 2007 (pictured right). The association was established in 2002 to encourage cultural awareness and understanding through art. Artists explore a variety of themes in the exhibition, from identity to spirituality.
