Our new logo

Our website will soon proudly carry the new Auckland City Council logo.

We decided to change the logo to make it easier to read and recognise, and to help you identify the facilities and services provided by your rates.

The design of the new logo cost $25,000 with up to an additional $16,000 for trademark registration costs. It was shown to ratepayers as part of regular research we carry out to find out what people think of, and want from, their council. The new logo received very positive feedback and was preferred to the previous one, because it was seen as more modern and community-focussed. That is why it was chosen.

The new logo will be put on the council's signs, forms and stationery as and when they need replacing, and on new items that are produced. In this way, there is no incremental cost to introduce the logo.
