Netball countdown

From City Scene, published on 4 November, 2007

Auckland will showcase its ability to host major sporting events with this month's New World Netball World Championship. The 16-team tournament, to be played from 10 to 17 November at Waitakere's The Trusts Stadium, will attract international attention and positively boost our region's economy.

Auckland's CBD will also come alive with street performers, netball-themed activities, competitions and giveaways in Aotea Square during lunchtimes from Monday, 12 to Friday, 16 November. For people heading to games, the journey to and from the stadium is being made easier with extra train services in the evenings and on Sunday, 11 November - as well as a free return shuttle bus from Henderson rail station to the stadium every 15 minutes. (The shuttle starts at 10.30am, 1 hour and 40 minutes before the first game each day, except on Saturday, 10 November when the service begins at 4.30pm).
