Urbis Designday sees top New Zealand fashion designers transform empty interior design showrooms into unique living spaces - blurring the boundaries between fashion and interior design. This year's collaborations include Huffer with Simon James design, and Stolen Girlfriends' Club with Matisse International Furniture. Urbis publisher Claire Sullivan says designers start working on the showrooms weeks in advance to create "their own take" on the interior space. "The brief to the designers is very broad and, as a result, some amazing collaborations have evolved in the past." The spaces are open for public viewing on Saturday, 17 November, from 10am to 5pm, with 30 luxury cars providing transport between the showrooms. To view the showrooms you need to register at www.urbismagazine.com or phone 361 2327.
