Netball fever hits CBDFrom City Scene, published on 11 November, 2007
The New World Netball World Championships are in full swing until 17 November, with 16 teams competing for the title at The Trusts Stadium in Waitakere. Auckland City Council is bringing netball fever to the CBD so fans who didn't get tickets can enjoy the excitement of the tournament. From Monday, 12 to Friday, 16 November, head into the central city between 11.30am and 1.30pm to get amongst the action. A giant netball, 6m in size, will be in Aotea Square, as well as a netball court where intermediate school teams will play friendly games against each other from noon. There will be numerous other netball-themed activities, as well as strolling performers, stiltwalkers, competitions and giveaways.
