Community markets

From City Scene, published on 18 November, 2007

Markets run by community centres are a great opportunity for talented residents to promote and sell their homemade arts and crafts, clothing, plants and other trinkets. Several community centres have stalls available for members of the community on a first come first served basis (check with the centre manager for guidelines on acceptable goods to sell).

  • Wesley Community Centre's Christmas Festival takes place on 15 December. Phone 620 5125 by 23 November to register your interest.
  • Pt Chevalier Community Centre's market and craft day also takes place on 15 December. To book a stall, phone 846 1094 by 14 December.
  • Oranga Community Centre is looking to hold a community centre market in conjunction with the Oranga Community Centre Festival on 31 January 2008. The market could turn into a regular event if the demand from the community is there. Phone 525 0174 by 15 December to book your stall.
