Waiheke by bikeFrom City Scene, published on 16 December, 2007
Waiheke Island's first dedicated mountain bike tracks opened this month in Onetangi Sports Park. The tracks were developed and built, mostly by hand, by the Waiheke Mountain Bike Club with Auckland City Council assistance. The tracks include a family track, suitable for people aged eight or more years, and an intermediate level track with more challenging bush trails and hills. The tracks are proving popular and are being included in tours of the lower end of the island. Visit www.wmbc.co.nz for more information about the tracks.
