Sailing the WaitemataFrom City Scene, published on 27 January, 2008
Celebrate Auckland's 168th birthday with a trip to see the Oceanbridge Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta on Monday, 28 January. The build-up to the regatta - one of the world's largest one-day regattas and one of New Zealand's longest running events - starts on the evening of Sunday, 27 January when classic yachts berthed at the Viaduct Harbour marina will be decorated with lights. You can view the racing action on Monday from various city vantage points, including Tamaki Drive and North Head. And don't miss the Parade of Sail and tugboat race at 11am.
