''The BIG little city'' campaign under wayFrom City Scene, published on 3 February, 2008
An advertising campaign encouraging more people to make the most of Auckland's new look CBD is well underway and receiving positive feedback. Developed by business association Heart of the City, with the support of Auckland City Council, the campaign promotes the central city by pairing the big experiences on offer with more personal, smaller scale opportunities. The campaign uses "the BIG little city" slogan in a variety of ways to promote events, dining and shopping in the CBD. As well as a brochure delivered with last week's City Scene, the campaign is appearing on the back of buses, street banners and in other media. "The campaign captures the essence of our city - it's local, interesting, diverse and vibrant," says Simon Dickson from retail fixtures firm GDM Group. Jason Linnell of High Street salad bar Toss! says they are very excited about the new campaign. "It looks great and it will serve the city and its retailers well," he says. CBD ratepayers and businesses are funding the campaign through a mainstreet and special targeted rate. To find out more visit www.theBIGlittlecity.co.nz
