Light up the night: Celebrate Chinese New Year and welcome the Year of the Rat at the ninth annual Auckland Lantern Festival at Albert Park.

Celebrate Chinese New Year and welcome the Year of the Rat at the ninth annual Auckland Lantern Festival at Albert Park from Friday, 22 to Sunday, 24 February, daily from 5pm to 10.30pm. The festival is one of Auckland's most popular free summer event and this year features more lanterns than ever before, as well as stilt walking, drumming and lion dancing provided by local and international performers, crafts, fortune-telling, traditional food, fireworks and martial arts displays. The 2008 Auckland Lantern Festival is proudly provided by Auckland City Council in partnership with the Asia New Zealand Foundation.
