Celebrating Auckland's childrenFrom City Scene, published on 24 February, 2008 Community and Auckland City Libraries celebrate International Children's Day with fun for the whole family on Sunday, 2 March. Children are encouraged to dress up for a kids' costume parade that leaves the Onehunga Community House at 10.30am bound for the Onehunga Community Centre. The centre will be offering activities including face painting, crafts, storytime and a free sausage sizzle for kids in costume. Parental supervision is required at this event, phone 634 9253 for more information. Auckland City Libraries is also marking International Children's Day with special events at three of its community libraries - Onehunga Community Library at 12.15pm, Blockhouse Bay Community Library at 1pm and Mt Albert Community Library at 1pm.
