Time for a big surprise: the 26th annual Teddy Bears' Picnic is on Sunday, 2 March at the Auckland Domain.

If you go down to Auckland Domain on Sunday, 2 March, you're sure of a big surprise - the 26th annual Teddy Bears' Picnic. The event runs from 11am to 4pm on New Zealand Children's Day. It will feature musicians, magicians, a climbing wall, fairy grotto and the Teddy Bear Parade at 12.30pm. A highlight this year is a giant, 18m long gas barbecue created by Mercury Energy to sizzle more than 14,000 free sausages for people attending the event. The council is proud to support the Teddy Bears' Picnic - another free summer event.
