One of the country's most prestigious horse races - the Auckland Cup - serves as the centerpiece of a week of events from 1 to 8 March that blend sport, fashion, celebration and glamour. There are three major race days during Auckland Cup Week - Mercedes Derby Day, featuring the Mercedes Prix de Fashion on 1 March; Stella Artois Auckland Cup Day on 5 March; and First Sovereign Trust Diamond Day on 8 March. Racing action at Ellerslie coincides with a string of other events, including the Auckland Cup Week Parade of Champions on 4 March from 12.30pm down Broadway, Newmarket, FIP World Cup Polo, greyhound and harness racing, and the New Zealand Bloodstock Carnival Yearling Sale.
