Celebrate Pasifika

The regional festival is a month-long programme of arts and events supported by the council.

See Pacific short films at the Auckland War Memorial Museum with Pollywood Shorts on Saturday, 15 March from 4pm to 5.30pm.

Earlier in the day, the museum will hold a Hinaki workshop for 9 to 12 year olds from 10am to 4.30pm. Kids can learn more about and make their own hinaki or eel trap using traditional techniques. Visit www.aucklandmuseum.com or phone 306 7048 to book.

Auckland City Council's community visual arts facility, Artstation, celebrates Pacific talent with Come Together, featuring collaboration between artists from a diverse range of Oceanic communities. The exhibition runs from Thursday, 13 to Saturday, 29 March and is open on Mondays to Thursdays from 9am to 9pm, Fridays from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. Artstation is closed during Easter weekend from 21 to 24 March.
