Auckland will host 14 of the highest ranked female skippers in the world at the BSport ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championships 2008.

The competition, sailed in the Waitemata Harbour off Westhaven Marina from Wednesday, 2 to Sunday, 6 April is the first female-only yachting event to be held in the South Pacific.

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron secured the right to host this prestigious annual championship ahead of bids from Europe and the United States.
