Beach Road upgrade

From City Scene, published on 6 April, 2008

The council wants to hear your feedback on its draft design for upgrading Beach Road, an area once part of Auckland's original foreshore. Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee chairperson Councillor Greg Moyle says the planned $6.8m upgrade will create a safer, greener, better-connected pedestrian route between key destinations, such as the Vector Arena and the Britomart Transport Centre.

"The number of pedestrians on Beach Road has greatly increased in recent years due to residential and business development nearby and the opening of Vector Arena," Mr Moyle says. You can view the draft design and provide feedback at an information display at Vector Arena or here on the website. The deadline for public feedback is 5pm on Wednesday, 23 April.
