Young people are making the most of free workshops at the Wesley Community Centre to enhance their performance, music and design skills.

The workshops are open to anyone aged between 16 and 22 years old and include:

  • Polynesian dance for young women (Thursdays, 5pm to 6pm)
  • music workshops to learn guitar, keyboards and drums (Tuesdays, 4pm to 6pm, for absolute beginners; and Wednesdays, 4pm to 6pm, for more confident musicians)
  • art and design workshops on digital art, t-shirt design and photography (Wednesdays, 5pm to 7pm).

Free drama workshops at the Mt Roskill War Memorial Hall (Mondays, 4.30pm to 6pm) are also proving popular with young people keen to develop their improvisation and acting skills.

For more details of these and other community centre activities for young people, phone Clare Carmody on 379 2020.
