Plan change notification

Land in Kohimarama Road, formerly part of Selwyn College and now earmarked for a retirement village, will be subject to public notification of a private plan change. The private plan change has been requested by Education Holdings Ltd, which has a 150-year lease from the Ngati Whatua Orakei Maori Trust Board, which purchased the land from the Ministry of Education.

Deputy chairperson of the City Development Committee, Councillor Graeme Mulholland, says public notification of the private plan change was required under the Resource Management Act. "A decision on the private plan change's merits can only occur after submissions and a hearing by a commissioners' panel," he says.
