If you are interested in Auckland's history, visit the website to view the council's archives database.

It includes everything from valuation information to cemetery burial registers. The database lists more than 170,000 records from council groups and former local authorities in the Auckland isthmus, dating back to 1852.

When you've completed your search for genealogical, social or local history information, you can view the records at the Central City Library's archives research room, open on weekdays between 2pm and 5pm.
