Sustainable buildingsFrom City Scene, published on 27 April, 2008 Auckland City Council's City Development Committee has approved an application for construction of a ventilated weather screen facade on the new Queen Street BNZ building. Permission for the facade, which projects over the road boundary on Queen and Fort streets, was granted after considering the building's environmental sustainability, including features to reduce energy use. The building will be Auckland's first five-star Greenstar rated building - an internationally recognised rating tool for building certification, awarded by the New Zealand Green Building Council.
