The weekly sessions are part of the Active Movement programme - a joint project of the council, Sport Auckland, and Sport and Recreation NZ (SPARC) - which provides positive movement experiences for preschoolers to aid their physical and intellectual development. "Movement is a child's first language, so it's important to provide babies with whole body movement right from birth," says Active Movement adviser Alissa Hills. To find out more about the classes, which are aimed particularly at toddlers up to two years old but open to all preschoolers. |
