Residents take to recycling

The new kerbside recycling service has started, and feedback shows that residents are adjusting well to the changes. During the recent bin rollout though, some streets received calendars with incorrect collection dates. If residents are unsure of collection dates, they can check their street's collection and download the correct calendar or calling 379 2028 to have a calendar sent out.

The recycling collections are now fortnightly. The larger 240-litre blue-lidded recycling bin means that a wider range of recyclable material can be placed in the same bin, including paper and cardboard, plastic containers numbered 1 to 7, glass jars and bottles, and steel and aluminium cans.

Blue recycling crates can no longer be used for the kerbside recycling collection. These will be collected from those residents who do not wish to keep them. Dates for this will be advertised closer to the time of collection.
