Get involved in the largest ocean swimming event in the
country when it returns to Auckland's harbour for another year and be able to
say, "I swam across the harbour".
First held in 2004, the opening race in the Sovereign NZ
Ocean Swim series now attracts 1400 swimmers and halts all marine traffic in New
Zealand's largest city.
You can still register to take part until 13 November, so
stay active, stop ocean traffic, and be part of this unique 2.8km swim. Or head
down to the Viaduct Harbour to cheer on those taking part.
Auckland City Council is sponsoring a cup for the family
who swims the fastest time. So get your family together and be in to win the
inaugural Auckland City Cup and a family pass to the
Heineken Open Men's Tennis
Tournament in January 2009. Go to
Sovereign NZ Ocean Swim series for more
information and
to register.
