The Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Councillor Campbell Newman, visited Auckland last week together with a business delegation to mark the 20th anniversary of the international partnership between the two cities.

A series of business presentations, events and company visits culminated in a function at the Auckland Town Hall for over 100 businesspeople with interests in Auckland and Brisbane.

Auckland city Mayor, Hon. John Banks also hosted a civic dinner with Dame Catherine Tizard, former governor general and former Mayor of Auckland city. Dame Catherine signed the original sister city agreement at the Brisbane Expo in 1988.
