Auditions open for Pasifika Festival 2009

Pasifika Festival 2009: Come along and celebrate the art, culture and lifestyle of Auckland's Pacific Island communities.

The hunt is on for new and emerging performers to feature in next year's Pasifika Festival. Auditions are now open for all genres, from traditional and street dancing to music, rapping and live poetry. The council-organised festival, held in March each year, celebrates the art, culture and lifestyle of Auckland's Pacific Island communities and is one of the largest community events in the South Pacific. The festival auditions provide an opportunity to promote and develop the vast talent in our communities. Individuals and groups selected from the auditions will perform on one of 13 stages planned for next year's festival, taking place at Western Springs Park on 13 and 14 March.
