Food safety: Free workshops about food safety for food service and
catering businesses. |

From City Scene, published on 21 December, 2008
To help ensure that food is safe for
Auckland diners, the council is running free workshops about
food safety for
food service and catering businesses.
The workshops - which promote good
practices in preparation, cleaning, storage and display - are part of a new food
industry initiative called the Food Control Plan.
Developed by the New Zealand Food Safety
Authority and supported by the council, almost 70 Auckland businesses have
signed up to this voluntary programme.
Consumers can identify a business with
an approved Food Control Plan by looking for a green "serious about food safety"
sticker on display. To attend a workshop, businesses should email
foodcontrolplans@aucklandcity.govt.nz or
contact us.
