It's time to start working on your application for the first round of Creative Communities funding for 2009. The Creative Communities Scheme provides funding assistance for arts projects that encourage and increase arts participation throughout the whole community.

The scheme, which is a partnership between Creative New Zealand and local authorities, seeks to support all forms of art throughout Auckland's diverse communities.

Auckland City Council is running information sessions from 9 to 27 February, which aim to assist local submitters with ideas, guide them in their applications and answer any questions they may have.

Applications need to be in by 6 March. To be considered, projects need to take place between late June 2009 and early May 2010.
