Council installs new shade sails : Children can now keep cool at Palm Beach Reserve Playground, thanks to new shade sails installed over the playground.

Children can now keep cool at Palm Beach Reserve Playground on Waiheke Island, thanks to new shade sails installed over the playground.

Following the council's upgrade of the playground last year, it received numerous requests for shade sails due to the playground's high exposure to the sun.

Auckland City Council has built the new shade sails, as well as planting shade trees adjacent to the playground. The shade sail installation was a Small Local Improvement Project approved by the Waiheke Community Board.
