Wednesday. |

Stroll to work this Wednesday, 18 March and receive free
breakfast goodies, as part of the national
Walk2Work event.
Happening in 12 areas across the country, the event aims to
celebrate walking and encourage more people to take up walking as part of their
daily commute to work.
"Even if you only walk part of the way and take the bus,
train or ferry, that's still excellent. Walking is something we can all do to
reduce our fuel dependence," says Walk Auckland's Andy Smith.
The free breakfast, which is supported by the council, will
be available at Pigeon Park (corner of Symonds Street and Karangahape Road,
opposite Grafton Bridge) from 7am to 9am.
"Auckland City Council supports all transport choices, and
walking to work is great - not only for your health, but for the environment,"
says Brian Tomlinson, group manager of Transport Strategy at Auckland City
Council.
