Auckland on show for Rugby World Cup
Auckland will be in the international spotlight as host of the opening match and ceremony of Rugby World Cup 2011.
Regional governance report
Across Auckland people are awaiting the announcement of the Royal Commission's report into Auckland's governance, including Auckland City Council. The commission is due to report its findings to central government on 31 March.
Coastal upgrade projects proposed
Following on from summer's resanding programme, Auckland's coastal areas are set to be further enhanced thanks to a proposed $10 million upgrade programme included in the council's upcoming draft 10-year plan.
