Parking permits made easier: From next month onwards permit
application processing times will decrease. |

Applying for parking permits is going to be simpler from
next month.
As of 1 May, there will be
more ways to apply and pay for parking permits, as well as shorter processing
times and better information for customers.
New criteria for issuing permits will also provide more
flexibility for a variety of goods and services vehicles - important to the
efficient running of the city.
"We want to continue providing a better service to
retailers, service providers and ratepayers, while creating better efficiencies
for the council," says Councillor Ken Baguley, chairperson of the Transport
Committee.
Processing times are now one-to-three working days for
temporary permits, however
they can usually be done on the spot. Most other parking permits now take
three-to-five days.
All major credit cards and personal cheques can be used for
payment.
These improvements follow a council review on the way
parking permits are issued and used.
People without internet access can obtain information and
application forms from the council's main reception at 1 Greys Avenue.
