With dozens of new business owners across Auckland benefiting from the one-day KICKSTART seminar, the next opportunity is 21 May.

The council-supported seminar, which is run by not-for-profit business growth organisation The ICEHOUSE, is open to anyone looking at starting a business or wanting to improve an existing one. Topics to be covered include funding, sales and marketing, intellectual property and cash-flowing modelling.

Attendee of a seminar last year, Todd Wackrow, said this was a crucial turning point for his company, POCKETvouchers.

"KICKSTART really influenced my views on how to build a business successfully," says Mr Wackrow.

"There was a lot of detail, but it was presented in such a way that it clarified what I needed to do to make a real success of my business."
