News in brief: Temp closures
From City Scene, published on 21 June, 2009.
From 1 July, Community Leisure Management (CLM) will take
over the operation of Glen Innes Aquatic Centre, Pt Erin Pool, Lynfield
Recreation and Youth Centre and Otahuhu Recreation and Youth Centre.
In order to allow CLM to move in, these recreation centres
will be closed for a few days:
- Glen Innes Aquatic Centre - the leisure pool and gym will
be closed from Friday, 26 June and the main pool and learners pool will be
closed from Sunday, 28 June. The pools will reopen on Wednesday, 1 July and the
gym will reopen on Monday, 6 July.
- Pt Erin Pool - the facility will be closed from Sunday,
28 June to Wednesday, 1 July.
- Lynfield Recreation and Youth Centre - the centre will be
closed from Sunday, 28 June to Wednesday, 1 July except for the gym, which will
reopen on Monday, 6 July.
- Otahuhu Recreation and Youth Centre - the facility will
be closed from Sunday, 28 June to Wednesday, 1 July.
The council will be working with both the incoming and
outgoing operators to ensure a smooth transition. This will include transferring
existing memberships to ensure the public can continue to make full use of the
facilities.
If current customers have any questions about the change of
operator, they can contact Auckland City Council.
