Save money on rates

A helping hand: Auckland City Council offers a number of different options to assist individuals and community organisations with the payment of their rates.

In this tough economic climate, Auckland City Council has had to review its budgets for the year and the council knows that many ratepayers are too.

Your rates bill is being delivered at the end of the month and the council is committed to assisting ratepayers.

If you are on a fixed or low income, or a benefit, you may be eligible for a rates rebate of up to $550.

To find out, you'll need:

your income declaration for the year ended 31 March 2009, and
2009/2010 rates information for Auckland Regional Council, Auckland City Council and your

Metrowater bill for the last 12 months.

Look out for the pamphlet explaining the different options, which will be delivered with your rates pack.
