Chinese community goes digital: New Zealand's Chinese community tries out the new website.

Auckland City Libraries has partnered with the New Zealand Chinese Association Inc on a website called The Chinese Digital Community. The site allows people to electronically store and browse photos, stories and documents from New Zealand's Chinese communities. The information is collated and preserved for future generations.

To assist users, the libraries are running a number of "click and learn" classes to help with the process of storing information. At these sessions, a librarian will be on hand to show you how to store information you bring along (whether that's a physical copy, or on digital memory stick or CD).

The classes continue until late August and take place across Auckland - Panmure, Avondale, Mt Albert, Epsom, Mt Roskill, Botany, Papatoetoe and in the CBD.

For more information, including dates and timings of the classes, and bookings for most sessions, visit The Chinese Digital Community website or Auckland City Libraries' What's on section.

To book a class at Botany, phone 272 0010. For Papatoetoe, phone 278 4392.
