Dog exercise areas

With well over 100 dog exercising areas around Auckland city, there is plenty of space and choice for dog owners.

However, as restrictions continue to take place at Hauraki Gulf beaches, dog owners are reminded to keep their pets under control at all times - even in off-leash areas.

"While you know your dog is not aggressive, if your dog runs quickly towards someone they may be frightened," says Councillor Aaron Bhatnagar, proud dog owner and chairperson of the City Development Committee.

"We want dogs and people to enjoy our open spaces safely together."
