Darby Street proposal: have your say on plans
Have your say: Make sure to give your feedback on the project
before 29 September.
From City Scene, published on 6 September, 2009.
Auckland City Council is proposing to turn Darby Street in
the CBD into a pedestrian mall - and would like your thoughts.
The upgrade would see the inner-city street closed to all
vehicles, except emergency vehicles and bicycles - making it a more people
friendly, attractive environment to spend time in.
It will also allow a more spacious environment for people,
public seating, outdoor dining and other activities. Additionally, it will
provide opportunities for creative use that may allow activities 24-hours a day.
For full information on the project and to
give feedback online visit
the Elliot Street and Darby Street upgrade section or call
Auckland City Council.
Written submissions on this proposal can be made to the
council until 5pm on Tuesday, 29 September. Any person who makes a submission
will have the opportunity to be heard by the council.
