News in brief: Library WiFi
All community libraries (including the Central City
Library) now offer WiFi, provided free to users by the council. To access the
service, you need a portable device (such as a laptop) that is WiFi enabled.
There are also desktop computers in the libraries that allow free access to the
internet.
"Libraries must continually adapt to meet the changing
needs of our communities and to take advantage of new technologies," says
Councillor Paul Goldsmith, chairperson of the Community Services Committee.
"Providing WiFi and internet free to users makes online browsing even more
accessible for Auckland residents."
