Downtown car park - update
From City Scene, published on 29 November, 2009.
Following advice from our banking partners about a
potential breach of credit card security at the Downtown car park, Auckland City
Council has taken all steps to ensure transactions at the Downtown car park are
safe and secure.
The council's banking partners have launched an
investigation into a potential link between irregular transactions and credit
cards used at the car park.
The credit card function at payment machines in the car
park has been deactivated, although credit card payments are still available at
the cashier booth.
As a further precautionary measure while the investigation
continues, credit card payments at the council's other CBD car park buildings
will also be solely available from the cashier stations.
Banks have released alerts to credit card issuers for
credit cards previously used at the Downtown car park. Please contact your
credit card issuer if you are concerned about previous use of your card.
