Bylaw review

At its 26 June 2008 meeting, the council resolved to revoke
the following existing bylaws (the respective part of the Auckland City
Consolidated Bylaw 1998 is listed in brackets):
- Animals bylaw (part 3)
- Hostels bylaw (part 4)
- Bathing, health and beauty facilities bylaw (part 5)
- Dangerous goods bylaw (part 11)
- Food premises bylaw (part 15)
- Food stalls bylaw (part 16)
- Public protection - skin piercing bylaw (part 17)
- Radio frequency fields bylaw (part 28).
The council also resolved to substitute these bylaws with
the following new bylaws:
- Auckland City Council Animals bylaw 2008
- Auckland City Council Hostels bylaw 2008
- Auckland City Council Bathing, health and beauty
facilities bylaw 2008
- Auckland City Council Hazardous substance bylaw 2008
- Auckland City Council Food premises bylaw 2008
- Auckland City Council Food stalls bylaw 2008
- Auckland City Council Skin piercing bylaw 2008
- Auckland City Council Radio frequency fields bylaw 2008.
The new bylaws came into force on Tuesday, 1 July 2008.
Although similar to the revoked bylaws, each new bylaw contains a number of
amendments. The Auckland City Council Radio Frequency Fields bylaw 2008 is
likely to be superseded with the adoption of new national standards.
