Proposed road closures
From City Scene, published on 31 August 2008
White Street (between Turner and Waverley streets), central city,
between 11.55pm on Friday, 5 September and 10pm on Sunday, 7 September to safely
remove a tower crane from a nearby site. This closure was originally scheduled
for late August, but has been postponed. (Rain dates: 12 to 14, 19 to 21 or 26
to 28 September.)
Barricades, detours and marshals will direct pedestrians and traffic safely

Kupe Street (between Kepa Road and Hawaiki Street), Orakei, daily
between 9am and 4.30pm from Wednesday, 3 September to Friday, 5 September, from
9am until 4.30pm daily. (Rain dates: Monday, 8 September to Wednesday, 10
September.) Detours will be signposted and crucial areas will be staffed during

Captain Springs Road (between Grotto and Church streets), Onehunga,
between 7am on Saturday, 6 September and 7pm on Sunday, 7 September for work on

Wolfe Street (between Federal and Albert streets), central city,
between 6am and 4pm on Saturday, 13 September to safely lift materials to a
building. (Rain dates: 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28 September.) Barricades, detours
and marshals will direct pedestrians and vehicles safely around the work zone.

Britomart Place (between Quay Street and Customs Street East), central
city, between 6am and 6pm on Saturday, 6 September to allow the safe
construction of a tower crane. (Rain date: Sunday, 7 September.)
Barricades, detours and marshals will direct pedestrians and traffic safely
around the work zone. Emergency and resident vehicles will be given access. For

Mahuhu Crescent and Te Taou Crescent, central city, between 6pm and
11pm on Saturday, 20 September for the New World International Netball Series at
Vector Arena. Tangihua Street (between Beach Road and Quay Street), central
city, will also be closed for approximately 20 minutes at the conclusion of
these events to help with crowd dispersal.
Mason Avenue (between Station Road to 27a Mason Avenue), Otahuhu,
between 8am and noon on Saturday, 20 September for the David Lange memorial
unveiling event.
