Auckland City Council has received an application for
resource consent under the Resource Management Act 1991 for 16 Mountain Road, Mt
Wellington.

Details
The applicant seeks consent to expand an existing child
care centre to provide for up to 86 children and 14 staff at the site. The
application involves the construction of an additional building at the site that
will be connected to the existing building, and the construction of a new
carport building and acoustic barriers around play areas. Seventeen parking
spaces will be provided for staff and customer use.
Resource consent is required for:
- a "care centre" accommodating people in excess of the
intensity level specified in the plan
- a car park space shortfall of six spaces
- a loading space shortfall
- stacked parking spaces
- the removal of a generally protected tree.
Development control modifications are also required to
intensity, maximum paved impermeable surface, minimum landscaped permeable
surface and screening of parking spaces. Overall, the proposal is a
discretionary activity under the Isthmus district plan.
