From City Scene, published on 12 October 2008

At its meeting on 25 September 2008, the council resolved to adopt the following plan modifications to the Isthmus district plan following the completion of the statutory processes. These plan changes will become operative on 17 October 2008

Plan change 123 and variation 123A - Mt Eden centre plan

This introduces an individual planning approach to maintaining and enhancing the character of Mt Eden village and promoting its amenity values.

This is achieved by the identification of certain buildings that are worthy of specific controls as "character defining" or "character supporting" with specific provisions to protect these buildings. Variation 123A clarified the provisions of the centre plan that was notified in plan change 123.

The plan change has been amended as a consequence of a consent order issued by the Environment Court on 20 June 2008.

Plan modification 142

A plan change that establishes a Panmure Growth Area Structure Plan for the town centre that allows for areas of retail, business and mixed-use growth. It also includes Panmure view protection to protect views to Mt Wellington and Panmure Basin.

The plan change has been amended as a consequence of a consent order issued by the Environment Court on 18 June 2008.
