Proposed road closures

Huia Road (between Great South and Station roads, including Moa Street), Otahuhu, between 7pm on Monday, 23 February and 6am Thursday, 26 February to allow resurfacing work. (Rain dates: Thursday, 26 February and Friday, 20 March.) A traffic management plan will be in place, including detours, and staff will be onsite to assist.

Church Street (between Galway Street and Onehunga Mall), Onehunga, between 7.30pm on Thursday, 26 February and 6am on Friday, 27 February (rain dates: The next available nights between Sunday 1 March and Friday 20 March) and the intersection of Church and Galway streets, Onehunga, between 4pm on Sunday, 1 March and 6am on Monday, 2 March. These closures will allow resurfacing work to take place. A traffic management plan will be in place, including detours, and staff will be onsite to assist.

The intersection on Market Road leading to Remuwera-Mt Hobson, Remuera, will be partially closed between 5pm on Sunday, 22 February and 6am on Monday, 23 February. (Rain dates: Monday, 23 and Tuesday, 24 February.) Traffic travelling along Market Road will be able to pass, but traffic exiting the motorway will not. A signposted detour will be put in place and personnel will assist traffic.

The following proposed road closures apply to all except authorised and emergency vehicles. For more information, phone Auckland City Council.

Hamer Street, Brigham Street and Jellicoe Street (between Beaumont and Daldy streets), central city, between 5.30pm and 7.45pm on the Thursday, 5 March for the Cyco Cycle Criterium Series.

Mahuhu and Te Taou crescents, central city, between 6pm and 11pm on Wednesday, 4 March for the Eric Clapton concert at Vector Arena. Tangihua Street (between Beach Road and Quay Street), central city, will also be closed for approximately 20 minutes after the event to help with crowd dispersal.

Queen Street (between Wellesley and Wakefield Street), central city, between midnight on Friday, 6 March and 6am on Sunday, 8 March.

Queen Street (between Wakefield Street and Mayoral Drive), Wakefield Street (between Queen Street and Mayoral Drive), Airedale Street (between Queen Street and Mayoral Drive) and Rutland Street (between Wakefield and Lorne streets) between 6am on Saturday, 7 March and 2am Sunday, 8 March. These proposed closures are for the Auckland Festival opening event, The Queen Street Sing Sing.

The unsealed section of the Esplanade (from Lannan Road to the beginning of the seal west of Kiwi Street), Waiheke Island, between 10am and 6pm on Sunday, 1 March for the Car-free Esplanade Day event.
