Notice of day of by-election (Eden/Albert Community Board)

Nominations received
Notice is given under section 65 of the Local Electoral Act
2001 that the following persons have been duly nominated as candidates for the
by-election being held for the
Eden-Albert Community Board (one vacancy):
- BOYS, Peter (Eden/Albert Ratepayers & Residents' Assn)
- BRETHERTON, Tom (Independent)
- COOKE, Julie (Citizens & Ratepayers)
- DEMLER, Bob (Focus Eden-Albert)
- MITCHELL, Simon (City Vision).
As there are more candidates than there are vacancies to be
filled, an election will be held between the above-named candidates on Thursday,
9 April 2009, under the first past the post electoral system, by postal vote.
Issuing of voting documents
Voting documents will be posted to electors of the
Eden-Albert Community Board from Wednesday, 18 March 2009.
Return of voting documents
Voting documents can be returned by post or hand-delivered
to the electoral office, Independent Election Services Ltd, ground floor,
Bledisloe House, 24 Wellesley Street West, Auckland from Wednesday, 18 March
2009 to noon on Thursday, 9 April 2009.
Special voting
Special voting in terms of the Local Electoral Act 2001 and
the Local Electoral Regulations 2001 may be exercised at the above location
or by telephoning the electoral office on
09 307 7211. A person can apply to enrol as either a residential or ratepayer
elector right up to and including Wednesday, 8 April 2009 - the day before the
close of voting.
Early processing of voting documents
Auckland City Council has resolved under section 79 of the
Local Electoral Act 2001
to process voting documents before the
close of voting.
