Operative plan changes
At its meeting on 23 April 2009, the council approved the
following plan modifications.
Plan Modification No 61: plan change - Glen Innes
residential 6a and 8 rezoning
Plan modification 61 is a plan change that rezones
properties located generally within a 10-minute walk of Glen Innes town centre
to residential 8a and 8b, and rezones properties directly facing or opposite the
new residential 8 zoned areas to residential 6a. The plan change also introduces
special height limits of four and five storeys across part of the former Tamaki
Girls College site, and applies flood limitation controls to address flood risk.
The plan change has been amended as a consequence of
consent orders issued by the Environment Court on 21 July 2008 and 17 December
2008.
Plan modification 145 is a plan change which introduces a
centre plan to St Heliers village to protect the character and amenity values of
the village. The plan change applies to a defined area and introduces additional
controls to development in that area. The plan change does not alter the
underlying zoning of the properties within the centre plan area but means that
development proposals will be considered against additional criteria when
resource consent is required. Variation 145A corrected some mapping and text
errors that were identified when plan change 145 was publicly notified. These
changes were subsequently incorporated into plan change 145.
The plan change has been amended as a consequence of
consent orders issued by the Environment Court on 20 June 2008 and a decision
issued by the Environment Court on 26 February 2009.
Both plan changes will become operative on Friday 9, May
2009.
