Central area district plan
From City Scene, published on 23 August 2009
Auckland City Council has prepared the following plan
modifications to the central area district plan under the Resource Management
Act 1991 (RMA). You can make a submission on these plan modifications. For more
information on how to do this, see the end of the notice. Phone the
duty planner, central area, if you have any questions about either of
these plan modifications.
This proposed plan modification is limited to mapping
changes and introduces an appropriate zoning for land associated with the
narrowing of Jellicoe Street to a width commensurate with the width of other
roads throughout Wynyard Quarter.
Taking part
(Taken from the RMA 1991)
The process for public participation in the consideration
of a proposed plan modification under the act is as follows.
- After the closing date for submissions, the council must
prepare a summary of the submissions and this summary must be publicly notified;
and
- There must be an opportunity to make further submissions
in support of, or in opposition to, the submissions already made; and
- If a person making a submission asks to be heard in
support of his or her submission, a hearing must be held; and
- The council must give its decision on the proposal
(including its reasons for accepting or rejecting submissions); and
- Any person who has made a submission has the right to
appeal the decision on the proposed plan modification to the Environment Court.
Proposed plan modification 40 is a notice of requirement
that introduces new designations for public open space and ancillary structures
associated with recreational activities, artworks and water features and
proposed road to create additional public open space adjacent to North Wharf.
