adidas Auckland Marathon

The following road closures will be in place at the listed times on Sunday, 1
November for the adidas Auckland
Marathon. These closures apply to all except authorised and emergency
vehicles.

Closures
Auckland Harbour Bridge and motorway
- State Highway 1 northern motorway between 4am and 10.30am, including
Curran Street on-ramp (northbound), Stafford Road off-ramp (northbound),
Onewa Road off-ramp (northbound) and Northcote Road off-ramp (northbound and
southbound).
- Northbound clip-on lanes of the Auckland Harbour Bridge (lanes 1 and 2)
between 6am and 10am. All other lanes on the Harbour Bridge will be open to
traffic.
St Marys Bay and Westhaven
- Curran Street (between Jervois Road and Westhaven Drive) and Sarsfield
Street (between Hamilton and Shelly Beach roads) between 5am and 11am. There
will no access to Shelly Beach Road from Jervois Road. Residential access
will be maintained.
- Westhaven Drive (partially between Curran and Beaumont streets) between
6am and 11am. Traffic can enter from Beaumont Street and exit via Shelley
Beach Road.
Tank farm, Victoria Park and Viaduct Harbour
- Beaumont Street (western lanes between Westhaven and Jellicoe Street,
and between Madden and Jellicoe streets), Hamer Street and Brigham Street
(from Jellicoe Street) between 6am and 11am.
- Halsey Street (between Fanshawe and Gaunt streets) between 11.30am and
1pm, with a partial closure between 5am and 11.30am (between Jellicoe and
Gaunt streets, with a one-way coned system operating to allow northbound
traffic from Pakenham Street).
- Gaunt Street (between Halsey and Daldy streets) between 4am and 11am.
- Fanshawe Street (between Beaumont and Halsey streets) between 3.30am and
2pm.
- Viaduct Harbour Avenue (between Halsey Street and Customs Street West)
between 6am and 1pm.
CBD and Mechanics Bay
- Customs Street West (between Fanshawe and Lower Hobson streets) between
6am and 11.30am.
- Lower Hobson Street (western side between Sturdee and Quay streets)
between 6am and 11.30am.
- Quay Street (northern lanes between Lower Hobson Street and Tamaki
Drive) between 6am and 11.30am.
Orakei, Mission Bay, Kohimarama and St Heliers
- The northern lanes of Tamaki Drive (between The Strand and Ngapipi Road)
between 6am and 11.30am, with the southern lanes open to westbound traffic.
Also, Tamaki Drive (between Ngapipi Road and Goldie Street) will be
partially closed from 6am to 11.30am. A two-way coned system will operate.
Parking restrictions
Ponsonby
- Sarsfield Street (both sides between Curran Street and Shelly Beach
Road).
- Emmett Street (south side).
CBD
- Beaumont Street (east side from the intersection of Fanshawe Street in a
southerly direction for 150m, and western side between Fanshawe and Jellicoe
streets).
- Hamer Street (both sides between Jellicoe and Brigham streets).
- Brigham Street (both sides between Hamer and Jellicoe streets).
- Jellicoe Street (north side between Brigham and Halsey streets).
- Halsey Street (east side between Jellicoe and Fanshawe streets, and both
sides between Fanshawe and Victoria streets).
- Gaunt Street (both sides between Daldy and Halsey streets).
- Fanshawe Street (both sides between Beaumont and Halsey streets).
- Viaduct Harbour Avenue (both sides between Halsey Street and Customs
Street West).
- Customs Street West (both sides between Viaduct Harbour Avenue and Lower
Hobson Street).
- Lower Hobson Street (west side between Customs Street West and Quay
Street).
- Quay Street (north side between Lower Hobson Street and The Strand).
Tamaki Drive
- Tamaki Drive (north side between The Strand and St Heliers Bay Road,
prior to the pedestrian crossing, and south side between Ngapipi Road and
Okahu Street).
Contingency
In the event of adverse weather or any other consideration causing the
Harbour Bridge to be closed to participants, the following waterfront course
will be provided as a contingency, with starting times running 30 minutes or
more later, and with closures at the following times on Sunday, 1 November.
Between 6am and noon
Gaunt Street (between Daldy and Halsey streets), Halsey Street (between
Pakenham Street West and Fanshawe Street), Viaduct Harbour Avenue (between
Halsey Street and Customs Street West), Customs Street West (between Viaduct
Harbour Avenue and Lower Hobson Street), Lower Hobson Street (between Sturdee
and Quay streets), Quay Street (between Lower Hobson Street and Tamaki Drive),
Tamaki Drive (from The Strand to Goldie Street).
Between 3.30am and 2pm
Fanshawe Street (between Beaumont and Halsey streets).
